The Dr. Di Croce Dental Clinic has patients of all ages from children to senior adults who need Orthodontics treatment.  Orthodontics (Dental Orthopaedics) – from Greek orthos “straight or proper” and odous “tooth” – is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites).

In children orthodontic treatments are done for permanent dentition.

In adults orthodontic treatments are mainly to solve functional, pre-prosthetic and aesthetic problems.

Literally Orthodontics means “straight teeth“.  It is conserned with diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disaligned dentition, improper bites (malocclusions), jawbones development disorders and dentition development defects.  These conditions  have a negative impact not only on aesthetics of a smile but often also on correct functioning of the masticatory system.

There are three types of orthodontics:  fixed orthodontics, mobile orthodontics or invisible orthodontics, depending on the type of aligners applied as the orthodontic aligners can be cemented onto teeth, easily placed and removed by the patient or remain invisible (clear plastic aligners).
