2011How Does The Session of Intense Pulse Light Treatment Proceed?
Before beginning the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment the skin is cleaned and a special gel is applied which serves as a conductor of the energy of light and also protects the skin.
Next we proceed to emitting the light impulses, which are “fired” from the handle-emitter. Its glass surface is applied directly to the skin in the treated area so the target is reached with the utmost precision.
The duration of one session depends on how large is the area we are treating and on the type of therapy. In general one session is 30 minutes long.
The IPL treatment protocol presumes at least 15 sessions for both photo rejuvenation and for permanent hair removal.
The fallen hairs and residues of the cunductive gel are removed after the session of photo-epilation, while the remaining hairs fall over the next one or two days.
The patient must wear protective glasses during the entire session of IPL. The IPL treatments are painless. You can however experience slight sensation of pinching caused by light.
