2011Devitalization with Diode Laser
Root Canal Treatment consists in removing the painful nerve of the tooth and the infected canal tissue. As much bacteria as possible must be eliminated in the prepared tooth canal, leaving it maximum clean.
After the root canal tissue and nerve are removed the Diode Laser is used to remove the layer of dental smear and to eliminate the bacteria accumulated inside of the tooth (the bactericidal effect of laser has been evidenced in numerous studies – the root canal irradiation with laser eliminates 99.9% of bacteria). The laser fibers are extremely flexible in comparison with the traditional tools and allow penetrating even in curved root canals.
Root canal therapy with the Diode Laser is less painful, more effective and guarantees faster healing. In some cases when treating fatal infections of the tooth pulp application of the Diode Laser makes unnecessary any additional drug therapy.
