Intense Pulsed Light offers efficient and non-invasive solutions to various problems according to the type of application chosen.
Treatments performed with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL):
- Foto Epilation - permanent hair removal;
- Foto Rejuvenation - non invasive skin rejuvenation system;
- Pigment Treatment - melanin spots removal (hyperpigmentation, pigmented lesions, sun spots);
- vascular lesions (rosacea)

The Intense Pulsed Light technology is based on the “selective photothermolysis” principle.
The selectivity arises from the fact that the particles in the skin are not heated in the same way, as they receive a different amount of energy, in relation with their specific heat-absorption characteristics.
The Photothermolysis allows targeting only the desired particles and leaves unchanged the composition of the surrounding tissue. The emitted beam interacts with specific target molecules of the epidermis. Targets are typically defined by the term ”chromophore”, which indicates the structures capable of capturing photons of light due to photo-sensitivity.
The pulsed light, as broad-spectrum is absorbed by chromophores, depending on their absorption characteristics, therefore causing the phenomenon of selective photothermolysis. This allows selecting the specific target and the corresponding type of treatment.
The target molecules of Intense Pulsed Light are:
- melanin, in the epidermis and the hair structure (spots, hair removal);
- water, in the layers of the dermis and in fibroblasts (rejuvenation);
- hemoglobin and oxy-hemoglobin, in blood vessels
